Schneider SC-V4-4 Lithium-Ion Fire Prevention Cabinet
Detects battery problems early and automatically takes action before a fire breaks out.
View productSafe storage and charging of larger lithium-ion batteries, including the Seabob with charger.
The Schneider SC-V4-1 (150 cm) lithium-ion fire prevention cabinet is the largest safety cabinet in the series and was designed for the safe storage and controlled charging of lithium-ion batteries. Thanks to its spacious interior dimensions, items such as a Seabob—including its charger—can be placed inside the cabinet and charged safely.
Request a QuoteThe Schneider Containment SC-V4-1 (150 cm) was developed based on a preventive approach to lithium-ion battery safety: detect and take action before a battery fire breaks out.
Lithium-ion batteries can produce small amounts of gas during the initial stage of degradation. This so-called off-gassing can occur even before heat or smoke is detectable and before thermal runaway sets in.
The Schneider Containment continuously monitors these gases. With a detection sensitivity starting at 1 PPM per second The first signs of a defective battery cell can be detected very early on.
As soon as abnormal battery behavior is detected, the system automatically intervenes and the Power supply to the charger interrupted. This stops the flow of energy to the battery and prevents the charging process from causing further degradation. The goal is to intervene before the battery reaches critical temperatures and progresses to thermal runaway and fire.
If, despite this preventive measure, a battery continues to deteriorate, then the explosion-proof construction, ventilation, gas filtration, and integrated fire suppression systems additional layers of security.
Thanks to the SC-V4-1’s spacious interior dimensions, it is also possible to Seabob with charger included be placed entirely within the secure environment. As a result, the charging process itself also takes place inside the continuously monitored safety cabinet.
Continuous off-gas monitoring detects abnormal battery behavior starting at 1 ppm per second, allowing problems to be identified before thermal runaway occurs.
As soon as abnormal battery behavior is detected, the power supply to the charger is automatically cut off. This stops the flow of energy and helps the system prevent the situation from escalating into a battery fire.
In addition to preventive detection and shutdown, the system features additional safety measures for containment, ventilation, gas filtration, and fire suppression in the event that an incident does escalate.
The spacious SC-V4-1 is large enough to safely store a Seabob, along with its charger, inside the cabinet. This allows the Seabob to be stored, monitored, and charged within a protected environment.
The Schneider Containment SC-V4-1 (150 cm) combines safe storage, controlled loading, early detection, and automatic intervention into a single integrated security system.
With a usable interior space of 1,300 × 550 × 550 mm The SC-V4-1 offers sufficient space for larger lithium-ion devices. A key example of its application is a Seabob with charger included, which can be fully placed inside the safety cabinet and charged.
During charging, the system continuously monitors for early signs of battery degradation. If abnormal battery behavior is detected, the power supply to the charger is automatically interrupted. This stops the flow of energy before the situation can worsen.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Schneider Containment SC-V4-1 (150 cm) creates a controlled environment in which lithium-ion batteries and equipment such as a Seabob with charger included can be safely stored and loaded.
During charging, the system continuously monitors for the first signs of battery degradation. As soon as abnormal battery behavior is detected, automatically cut off the power supply to the charger.
This stops the flow of energy and ensures that action is taken as early as possible to prevent a faulty battery from escalating further toward thermal runaway and fire. The integrated containment, ventilation, filtration, and fire suppression systems provide additional layers of safety should an incident continue to escalate.
APPLICATIONS
The Schneider Containment SC-V4-1 (150 cm) is specifically designed for larger lithium-ion devices used on board superyachts.
Thanks to its spacious interior dimensions, a The Seabob, including the charger, should be stored entirely inside the cabinet. This means the battery does not need to be removed from the equipment for charging, and both storage and the charging process take place within a monitored and secure environment.
In addition to Seabobs, the cabinet can be used to store various other lithium-ion batteries and electrical equipment on board.
