The Schneider SC-V4-4 (50 cm) lithium-ion fire prevention cabinet is an advanced safety cabinet designed for the safe storage and charging of lithium-ion batteries. The system continuously monitors the batteries and detects anomalies at the cell level at a very early stage. As soon as abnormal battery behavior is detected, the power supply to the charger is automatically cut off to help prevent further degradation and the onset of thermal runaway.
Request a QuoteThe Schneider Containment SC-V4-4 (50 cm) was developed based on one key principle: to prevent battery fires as much as possible prevent it before it happens.
A lithium-ion battery may produce small amounts of gas during the initial stage of degradation. This so-called off-gassing can occur before critical temperatures are reached and before thermal runaway sets in.
The Schneider Containment Generation 4 continuously monitors this gas release. With a detection sensitivity starting at 1 ppm per second Abnormal behavior in a battery cell can be detected at an early stage.
As soon as an anomaly is detected, the system automatically cuts off the power supply to the charger. This stops the further flow of energy and takes action before the situation can escalate.
If, despite these preventive measures, a battery were to continue to degrade, the explosion-proof design and integrated containment features would provide an additional layer of safety.
Continuous off-gas monitoring detects abnormal battery behavior starting at 1 ppm per second, allowing problems to be identified before thermal runaway occurs.
As soon as abnormal battery behavior is detected, the power supply to the charger is automatically cut off. This stops the flow of energy and helps the system prevent the situation from escalating into a battery fire.
In addition to preventive detection and shutdown, the system features additional safety measures for containment, ventilation, gas filtration, and fire suppression in the event that an incident does escalate.
With external dimensions of 500 × 600 × 600 mm, the 50 cm model offers a compact solution for safe battery storage and charging on board superyachts and in technical rooms.
The Schneider Containment SC-V4-4 (50 cm) combines safe storage, controlled charging, early detection, and automatic shutdown into a single integrated security system.
During charging, the stored lithium-ion batteries are continuously monitored for early signs of battery degradation. The integrated detection technology analyzes off-gassing with a sensitivity starting at 1 ppm per second.
When abnormal behavior is detected, the system automatically cuts off the power supply to the charger. This stops further energy from flowing to the battery and allows for intervention before the situation escalates into thermal runaway.
As an additional layer of safety, the cabinet features integrated systems for containment, ventilation, gas filtration, and fire suppression. The design is intended for professional applications where high standards are required for battery safety and operational reliability.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Schneider Containment Generation 4 continuously monitors for the first signs of battery degradation. As soon as the system detects abnormal behavior in a battery cell, it automatically cut off the power supply to the charger.
This stops the flow of additional power before the battery reaches critical temperatures. The goal is to intervene as early as possible and to prevent the battery from entering thermal runaway and catching fire.
If, despite these measures, a battery were to continue to degrade, the integrated containment, ventilation, filtration, and fire suppression systems provide an additional layer of safety.
APPLICATIONS
The Schneider Containment Generation 4 – 50 cm is designed for locations where lithium-ion batteries are regularly saved and loaded and where a battery incident could have serious consequences.
The compact model is particularly well-suited for superyachts, where batteries for items such as power tools, water sports equipment, and other gear need to be stored and charged safely.
