The kit is designed to protect individuals during incidents involving lithium-ion batteries in thermal runaway. It includes the LFIM® Fire Intervention Mask, heat-resistant gloves, and a transparent wall-mounted cabinet for storage.
ASAPs – “As Sustainable as Possible”
-
The extinguishing agent is completely PFAS-free: zero PFAS.
-
It is harmless to both the environment and human health.
-
Composed of over 99% natural ingredients.
-
At the end of its service life, ASAP extinguishers can be returned free of charge for complete recycling.
-
The extinguishing agent is reused as a compost enhancer, returning safely to nature.
This makes ASAP the only fully circular fire extinguisher in the world.
ASAPs – “As Safe as Possible”
-
No harmful gases are released during extinguishing due to the nature of the agent.
-
ASAP’s hydrogel is non-toxic and causes no skin irritation or health risks.
-
Although ASAP extinguishers consist of over 95% water, they can be used safely on electrical equipment up to 1,000 volts (from a distance of 1 meter).
-
The extinguishers have a throw range of 3 to 4 meters, allowing the user to keep a safe distance from the fire.
ASAPs – “As Solid as Possible”
-
The ASAP fire extinguisher features a robust cylinder, internally coated with a full plastic lining and fitted with external threading.
-
The ergonomic handle ensures a secure grip and excellent control over the extinguishing jet.
-
The precision-engineered nozzle ensures optimal atomization while maintaining strong jet force.
-
The manometer function can be checked without disassembly, allowing for easy inspection.

Guideline Support
Purpose of the Lithium Battery Incident Response Kit
(MGN 681 (M) Amendment 1 – Section 8: Fire Suppression)
MGN 681 (M) Amendment 1 introduces specific expectations for fire suppression equipment and crew protection where lithium-ion batteries are stored, charged, or used onboard yachts. To support practical compliance with these requirements, this kit has been created to provide crews with immediately available, appropriate equipment for managing lithium battery fire and electrolyte spill hazards.
In particular, Section 8 of MGN 681 requires:
-
Portable fire extinguishers suitable for lithium battery fires to be readily available in battery spaces, with additional extinguishers recommended for large battery-powered tenders or vehicles (8.5).
-
Battery fire suppression blankets and/or containment bags appropriate to the battery inventory, with awareness of heat transfer and toxic or explosive gas risks (8.6).
-
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the safe handling of spilled battery electrolytes, supported by access to relevant Safety Data Sheets (8.8).
-
Respiratory protection, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), for crew responding to lithium battery fires where exposure to toxic smoke or gases may occur (8.13).
This kit consolidates these required and recommended items into a single, purpose-designed solution, enabling crews to:
-
Respond safely and effectively to lithium battery incidents,
-
Reduce the risk of injury from fire, toxic smoke, or electrolyte exposure,
-
Demonstrate alignment with current MCA guidance and accepted best practice,
-
Support onboard procedures, drills, and Safety Management System requirements.
By providing the correct equipment in one controlled and identifiable kit, the vessel improves both operational readiness and regulatory compliance with the latest MGN 681 guidance.
