Although highly efficient, damaged or defective batteries can enter thermal runaway, creating intense fires that are extremely difficult to extinguish using conventional fire extinguishers.

The Liiontek Lithium Ion Fire Extinguisher uses Hydrogel BM048, an advanced extinguishing agent that reacts instantly to heat by forming a protective gel layer. This gel adheres to hot surfaces, providing exceptional cooling while simultaneously creating a natural oxygen barrier that suppresses the fire and significantly reduces the risk of reignition.

Safe to Use

Safety is one of the key advantages of Hydrogel technology.

Unlike many conventional extinguishing agents, Hydrogel does not release harmful gases during firefighting. The extinguishing agent is non toxic, does not cause skin irritation and is not classified as hazardous under European CLP regulations.

Although Hydrogel consists of more than 95% water, it can safely be used on live electrical equipment up to 1000 Volts, provided a minimum distance of one metre is maintained.

With an effective throw range of approximately 3 to 4 metres, operators can extinguish fires while maintaining a safe working distance.
